Jim was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania and was the third of four boys. His mother is a Latino and father is Irish! Jim came to Florida in 1980 to attend the University of Miami. There he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and was a member of the 1983 National Championship Football team. Jim is best known for being the founder and publisher of Weston Lifestyle Magazines, and is the CEO of a Weston Life Magazine. Jim is currently a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker in Weston as well as SVP of Weston Media Co – a digital marketing company..
Jim served as a Weston City Commissioner from 2010 – 2016 and he was the Vice President for the Broward League of Cities. He also was a Director and Legislative Chair for the Florida League of Cities. Jim serves or served on numerous civic and appointed boards and was Governor for Rotary International in SouthFlorida in 2007-08. He has been a Rotarian since 1989 and served as President for two clubs including the Rotary Club of Weston. Jim was the Chairman of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
Jim has received much recognition for his community service including the 2016 Home Rule Hero Award from the Florida League of Cities, Valor Award from the American Diabetes Association, the Pinnacle Award from the Southwest Broward Regional Chamber of Commerce, he was a finalist for the South Florida Business Journal’s Up and Comer Award, named one of the South Florida’s Finest Couples, a Hispanic Diamantes Award Recipient, and a Hurricane Wilma Hero Recipient from the Cleveland Clinic.
